I'm Back...

I'm back and would like to say "better than ever", but to be honest "I'm just back". I have had a full day with the boys.

Rivers decided to be a monster today and pushed me to my limits. Not to be unexpected as he did just turn the "terrible 2"!

Reid decided to be a"working man" all day with his new toy tools which were his "Finale poopin in the potty presents". (including safety goggles and Rust-eeze work hat) And I am tired, really tired. Tired of a lot right now: tired of saying "no" a gazillion times to my son, tired of tripping over toy trucks, tired of my Clemson Tigers losing, tired of the stress, just tired, tired , tired!

So enough complaining- I feel better after venting to you and will feel better once I have the glass of red wine that is calling my name.

Keeps me laughing...

So my oldest child is very much like my husband and my youngest is very much like me (a free-spirit, into everything, silly, loves attention). This week he has done some hilarious things and I just have to share the stories and pictures with you.

First- the other night when we were having dinner he knocked his bowl of corn off of the table. The corn went everyhwere and I asked Henry (our dog) to lick up the corn. I go to put something in the fridge and when I turn around, I see Rivers on the floor, belly down, face to the floor, licking up the corn with Henry.
Then this morning Rivers got into my closet and got my shoes out to wear. He was alking around all morning saying "Mommy shoes" and laughing. This expression on his face captures the "true" Rivers...

The day after...

Memorial Day, a big cookout, a lost garden, a first day back at work after a long weekend...and I am EXHAUSTED! I have been in bed since 8pm and plan on retiring early tonight. Hope you have a good night's rest.

Night Night...

It doesn't get much better than this...

For those of you who have children, the title of this post says it all.

A little background about this video...almost every afternoon when I get home from work, we have a "dance party". I LOVE to dance (but am not the best dancer) and I hope that my boys have a love for music and dancing as much as I do.

I consider myself an "old soul" when it comes to music- love Otis Redding, Van Morrison, The Temptations, Toni Bennett, etc. I tend to play "beach music" because I want our boys to know the music that their grandparents and parents grew up with and love.

My thoughts for today...

- I could get used to being a stay-at-home mom (with a full time nanny). Crap- that means I have to keep working to pay her! Oh the irony.
- Laying in bed on a rainy day, even when you're sick, is a nice break in the normal pace of life. I have had a true day of rest.
- I am blessed with great friends. One called to offer to bring me soup. The other offered to cook dinner!
- Having a flu-like illness is "for the birds".
- Saltine crackers and sprite are the best comfort foods when you're sick.
- There's nothing better than hearing sweet voices from your children who are happy to see you (when you finally come out of your bedroom). Our oldest likes to tell his younger brother "Shhhh!-mommy doesn't feel good."

The bad thing about sick children...

other than the fact that they are sick is that they get YOU sick. Yes, I am at home today, in the bed, with a fever, stuffy nose, sore throat, and clogged ears. AND I had 2 demos and a conference call today. As soon as my clients heard me speak, they felt really bad for me and hurried the calls so they did not have to hear me sniffle or cough another time!

Good news is that one of my boys is feeling better.

Maybe it was the cupcakes that we made for his teachers yesterday afternoon. Here he shares what and why we were baking...

Update

I can barely even see the TV screen now from crying so much from watching Seven Pounds. (although after having kids I cry at pretty much anything) What a story- I think I will change my status to "organ donor" now.

Today is a good day...

for my boys to be feeling sick. It is raining and storming outside so we couldn't play outside anyways. Long naps mean that I get to "rent" a movie, lay on my couch and watch it. Today's choice is Seven Pounds- good so far. Hopefully I will be able to finish the movie before these 2 rascals wake up...
